The story revolves around the lead protagonist Vaishnavi who is divulged into a world where caste and societal superiority is everything to her father. At a very young age, she takes a liking towards helping people in need and also helping out old people which builds a sense of responsibility in her character.
After the demise of her parents, she moves to America and takes up a well-paying job and indulges herself in social work helping people around her. Her passion to help people in her motherland makes her quit her job and return to India where she works towards the welfare of the poor, the aged and the differently abled people.
During one such act of selflessness, Vaishnavi comes across an old and orphaned deceased woman and decides to perform the last rites and lay her in peace. She goes a step ahead and performs all the rigid rituals that a son needs to perform for his deceased mother thereby breaking the monotony. With this bold act, Vaishnavi shares her concerns for the poor and the people in need and dedicates her life to serving the society.
